They have won the regatta and they have celebrated. The crew of the British sailing ship Royalist came first in the overall classification on the Tall Ships' Races 2017 and it also won in Class A.

Yesterday there was a lot of joy with champagne, dancing and loud music. But in the morning it was business as usual, maybe because of the visit of the deputy president of Szczecin Krzysztof Soska who came to congratulate the crew.

ROYALIST is the flagship of the British "Sea Cadets" organization. The sailing ship is over 30 meters long and takes on 26 cadets and 8 members of the permanent crew.

The winner in overall classification in Class B was "Rupel" from Belgium, in class C - "St Iv" from Estonia, and in class D - Tuuelind from Estonia as well.

Over 70 vessels arrived to the Szczecin harbor for the finals of the Tall Ships Races - among them the biggest and considered to be the most beautiful ones - sailing ships of Class A.

Altogether there are 19 of them. At the waterfront in Chrobry Embankment moored, among others, three Polish ships "Dar Młodzieży", "Fryderyk Chopin" and "Pogoria", Russian ones "Kruzenshtern" or "Sedov", "Cisne Branco" from Brazil, "Royalist" from the UK, "Shabab Oman II" from Oman, "La Grace" from Czechia. What's more there are vessels from the Netherlands, Germany, Bulgaria, Portugal, Norway and Sweden moored on the Oder River.

These ships are the most popular with the public and that's why Radio Szczecin decided to check with a short opinion poll which one is the most beautiful according to the readers of the radioszczecin.pl web portal. Results will be published on Tuesday.

He was to sell watches and jewelery during the Tall Ships Races finals on his stand, but he sold ... knives. On the counter of one of the stands at ul.Komandorska, our reporter noticed dozens of various knives. Such sale is incompatible with the regulations, says spokesman for the regatta, Tomasz Owsik-Kozłowski. He ensures that the knives has disappeared from the stand.

"We went to a stand that we controlled on Sunday, but then that equipment was not there. We look forward to clarifying this issue, the vendor will be able, according to what he wrote in his application to sell jewelry and watches, but absolutely there is no green light for sales of such items - assures the spokesperson of the regatta. He also adds that the driver might have brought the knives together with other items.

On Monday, the stall where the knives were sold, was closed.

A lucky lot with six correctly selected numbers has been bought by the winner in the lottery office located on the Łasztownia Island. There lucky numbers were - 10, 20, 23, 35, 47, 49 and gave one of the participants the Tall Ships' Races a reason to celebrate even harder as they won 6 million zlotys.

Gestern haben schätzungsweise 450 Tausend Menschen das Finale des Tall-Ships-Races besucht. Beim abendlichen Konzert mit den Stars von "The Voice of Poland" haben sich mehr als 150 Tausend Menschen rund um die Tribüne gedrängt. Auch im Internet erfreut sich das Regattafinale großer Beliebtheit. Der Facebook-Auftritt der offizielle Seite des Organisators tallships.szczecin.eu ist bis gestern 5 Millionen Mal aufgerufen worden.

Für einen Gast wird das Tall-Ships-Races-Finale in Szczecin mit Sicherheit bis zum Lebensende in Erinnerung bleiben. 10, 20, 23, 35, 47 und 49. Am Lottostand auf der Insel Łasztownia hat ein Glückspilz mit diesen sechs Richtigen mehr als 6 Millionen Złoty, umgerechnet 1,5 Millionen Euro, gewonnen. Mit dem Geld kann man sicherlich ein hübsches Segelboot kaufen.

Auf der schwedischen "Tre Kronor af Stockholm" rekrutiert der amerikanische Onlineshop-Riese Mitarbeiter für sein neues Logistikzentrum in Kołbaskowo in der Nähe von Szczecin. Wie Marta Barcewicz, Managerin für Personalfragen bei Amazon erklärt, können die potentiellen Bewerber sich über das Angebot und die Arbeitsbedingungen informieren. Mit einer speziellen Brille kann man bereits virtuell das Logistikzentrum besuchen. Außerdem hat die Firma eine Leseecke eingerichtet, wo man E-Book-Reader gewinnen kann. Amazon will das neue Logistikzentrum in Kołbaskowo bis Ende des Jahres eröffnen und 1000 Personen anstellen.

Seit gestern kennen wir die Sieger in den verschiedenen Klassen beim Regattafinale. Wie bereits berichtet hat sich in der Klasse A die britische "Royalist" durchgesetzt, die auch im Gesamtklasement gewonnen hat. Seitdem das Ergebnis bekannt gegeben worden ist, herrscht auf dem britischen Segler der Ausnahmezustand, wie der 15-jährige Ethan Radio Szczecin berichtete. "Wir haben mit Champagner angestoßen, gefeiert und getanzt. Alles bei uns an Bord", so das junge Besatzungsmitglied. Heute morgen hat auch noch der stellvertretende Stadtpräsident Krzysztof Soska der Crew einen Besuch abgestattet, um ihr zu gratulieren. Die "TS Royalist" ist das Flagschiff der britischen Organisation "Sea Cadets". Der Segler ist 30 Meter lang. Zu der Mannschaft gehören 26 Kadetten und 8 feste Crew-Mitglieder. Und auch wenn die polnische "Dar Młodzieży" in diesem Jahr bei der Preisvergabe leer ausgegangen ist. Die Hörer von Radio Szczecin haben sie, vor der russischen Sedov und der "Frederic Chopin" in einer Online-Umfrage zum schönsten Schiff in der Klasse A gewählt.
