The results of the 2017 Tall Ships Races have been announced.
The British Royal Sailing Ship "Royalist" has won this year. It was also the best in class A. In class B won the Belgian "Rupel", in class C it was Estonian "St Iv" and in class D Estonian "Tuuelind". Results were announced earlier today at the Summer Theater in Szczecin.

Friendship Prize went to Shabab Oman’s crew. Prizes for the best performance in the parade were as follows: Class A "Roald Amundsen" from the UK, Class B "Ingo" from Sweden, Class C "Ocean Scout" from Great Britain, and Class D Polish "Bies".

The most international crew came aboard the Norwegian "Statsraad Lehmkuhl" which included 17 different nationalities. The youngest crew was on the Polish yacht "Bies". The youngest captain Aleksy Duchnowski commanded the yacht "Leonid Teliga". He is 22 years old.

The sailing ship "Captain Borchardt" has changed its home port from Gdansk to Szczecin. The ceremony was held today on board the vessel and it was connected with the ongoing finals of the Tall Ships’ Races. "Borchardt" moored at the Starówka Waterfront.

Deputy mayor of Szczecin Krzysztof Soska and sailors took part in the celebration which began with the Szczecin bugle call. After the change of the home port on board "Captain Borchardt" there was also a presentation of the Tall Ship stamp by the Polish Post held.

"Borchardt" will operate between Szczecin, Świnoujście and ports close to the Baltic Sea.

Another point of the ceremony was the "unusual" launch of the book entitled " Without slippers across the sea" authored by Radio Szczecin journalist Katarzyna Wolnik-Sayna. This is a collection of her radio reports in a written form.

The Tall Ships Races finals in Szczecin will last until Tuesday. There are over 70 vessels moored at in the harbour. Moreover there are also sailing fairs, sand sculpture festival, amusement park and food truck festival waiting for the inhabitants and tourists on the Chrobry Embankment and the Łasztownia Island.

A Canadian plane has hooked Polish Airlines dreamliner’s wing. The incident took place at Pearson Airport in Toronto. The Polish plane was supposed to fly to Warsaw, but the flight was canceled. While the Polish plane was sitting on parking place, its wing was partially damaged. But as spokesman for Polish Airlines Adrian Kubicki assures there was no danger to the passengers. The damaged part of the wing will be replaced, for now it is not known whether this will be done in Canada or in Warsaw. Passengers will return to the country by another plane.

36 billion pounds - according to the British newspaper "Sunday Telegraph" this is what London will be able to pay for leaving the European Union.
Journalists of the Sunday newspaper assure that they have this information from three different sources. According to the "Sunday Telegraph" London offered to make payments for up to three years after Brexit.They threw the proposal on the table to get out of the negotiating deadlock and to move as soon as possible to outline a new trade deal.

The British government is refusing to comment on these reports, noting that negotiations are ongoing. And an anonymous, high-ranking official told Sky News that the revelations of the "Sunday Telegraph" were "utterly untrue."

Der britische Segler "Royalist" ist der Gesamtsieger des diesjährigen Tall Ships Races und zugleich der Gewinner in der Klasse A. Den Sieg in der nächsten Bootskategorie hat der belgische "Rupel" für sich entschieden. In der Klasse C hat die estnische "St IV" seine Konkurrenten hinter sich gelassen. Und in der Kategorie der kleinsten Segler war ebenfalls ein Boot aus dem kleinen baltischen Staat erfolgreich, die "Tuuelind". Die Ergebnisse wurden am frühen Abend im Stettiner Freichlichttheater verkündet.

Der Preis für die freundlichste Besatzung erhielt die "Shabab Oman II". Ausgezeichnet wurden außerdem noch vier Mannschaften für ihren gelungenen Auftritt der Seglerparade. Die "Roald Amundsen" aus Großbritannien in der Klasse A, die "Ingo" aus Schweden in der Kategorie B, die "Ocean Scout" in der Kategorie C und schließlich noch die polnische "Bies" in der Klasse D. für den gelungensten Auftritt bei der Seglerparade.
Die bunteste Truppe des Regattafinales hat auf der norwegischen "Statsraad Lehmkuhl" angeheuert. An Bord des Großseglers sind Mannschaftsmitgliedern aus 17 verschiedenen Nationen vereinigt. Und noch eine statistische Information: Die jüngste Besatzung ist auf der polnischen Jacht "Bies" unterwegs.

Wie bereits berichtet wurde die Besatzung der "Shabab Oman II" für ihre Freundlichkeit von den Organisatoren des Tall Ships Races ausgezeichnet. Von der omanischen Gastfreundschaft konnten sich heute morgen die anderen Besatzungen überzeugen. Mehr als 100 andere Segler nahmen an einem orientalischen Frühstück teil. Gegessen wurde nicht an Bänken, sondern auf arabischen Teppichen. Auf großen Blechen servierten die osmanischen Gastgeber zum Beispiel eine bunte Mischung von Pfannkuchen, die ohne Besteck verspeist wurden. Aber die Omanis hatten nicht nur verschiedene leckere Speisen und Getränke vorbereitet, sondern luden ihre Gäste zum gemeinsamen Tanz und Gesang. Die universal begabte Crew spielte auf Trommeln und anderen Instrumenten bekannte Lieder ihrer Heimat. Mit anderen Worten. Die "Shabab Oman II" hat ihren Titel als freundlichste Mannschaft verdient erhalten.

Und noch eine Nachricht aus der Welt des Sports, die die niederländischen Teilnehmer des Tall-Ships-Races-Finale sicherlich schon kennen. Ihre Fußball-Damen haben sich durch einen Sieg gegen Dänemark den Titel bei der heimischen Europameisterschaft geholt. Vor einem begeisterten Publikum setzte sich die Mannschaft von Trainerin Sarina Wiegmann mit 4:2 gegen den skandinavischen Gegner durch. In einem begeisternden Match stand es nach 45 Minuten bereits 2:2. In der zweiten Halbzeit waren die Niederländerinnen den Däninnen dann aber überlegen, die dem Druck der heimischen Mannschaft nichts mehr entgegen zu setzen hatten. Mit Toren von Spitse und Miedema gingen die niederländischen Damen als verdiente Siegerinnen der Europameisterschaft vom Platz.

Und zum Schluss noch das Wetter. Heute Nacht sinken die Temperaturen auf 13 Grad. Dafür erwartet uns morgen ein überwiegend sonniger Tag mit Höchsttemperaturen von 23 Grad Celsius.
