At 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. we will present the most important news regarding the regatta final and what is going on in Szczecin, while at 10 p.m., world news.

There have been a lot of attractions for the guests of The Tall Ships Races final prepared. A gigantic stage has been constructed at the foot of the Chrobry Embankment in Szczecin. On Saturday there will be nearly 150 artists performing on it, including world-famous tenor Andrea Bocelli. A children's area is located in Adam Mickiewicz Square while the amusement parks can be found by the river.

Across the Odra River, pontoon bridges were constructed. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday they will operate from 7am to 2am, while on Monday and Tuesday from 7am to 10pm.

The city has prepared special car parks for residents and especially for visitors during the finals of the large sailing ships regatta. You will be able to leave your vehicles and get to the area of TTSR events by public transport.

The first such parking is available at Selgros in Zdroje in Walecznych Street. Another one is located on the premises of the Szczecin International Fair in Eskadrowa Street on the eastern side. On the western side, you can use the car parks of Macro and the University of Szczecin in Cukrowa Street.

It is worth to use public transport, because trams and buses will run even after midnight according to special timetables and will take you to the car parks.

The organizing committee of the Tall Ships Races has decided to shorten the final stage of the regatta. The reason was the forecast of unfavorable wind.

As the spokesman for the regatta Tomasz Owsik-Kozłowski told us, many yachts and sailing ships heading for Szczecin skipped the previously designated finish line. In a statement issued, the regatta director explained that the fleet was very dispersed on Thursday morning: the faster units were a few hours from the finish line, and the smaller ships had over 150 nautical miles yet to cover.

According to the forecasts, the unfavourable wind was expected to blow from the south west. That is why the organizers decided that the race would be completed sooner, so that all the vessels could reach Szczecin in time.

According to the plan, the first sailing ships will moor in the Chrobry Embankment today in the morning. All the participants of the regatta will arrive to Szczecin by noon on Saturday.

Achtung! Das für die Wetterprognose zuständige Wojewodschaftsamt warnt vor schweren Unwettern in Westpommern. Laut Wetterbericht kann es noch bis heute Mittag zu schweren Gewittern verbunden mit starkem Regenfall kommen. Hagelschlag ist ebenfalls möglich.

In Szczecin dauern die letzten Vorbereitungen auf das Tall Ships Races Finale an. Am Fuße der Stettiner Hakenterrasse werden die Arbeiten an der großen Festivalbühne abgeschlossen, auf der am Samstag mehr als 150 Künstler auftreten werden, unter ihnen der weltberühmte Startenor Andrea Bocelli. Auch der Rummelplatz mit vielen Attraktionen für Kinder rund um den Adam-Mickiewicz-Platz ist schon fast fertig aufgebaut.

Auch die Pontonbrücken, die das Veranstaltungsgelände dies- und jenseits der Oder rund um die Hakenterasse verbinden, sind für die Besucher bereits zugänglich. Sie können heute, morgen und am Sonntag von 7 bis 2 Uhr in der Nacht benutzt werden. An den letzten beiden Finaltagen sind sie von 7 bis 22 Uhr geöffnet.

Wegen der starken Regenfälle in den vergangenen Wochen sind in diesem Jahr auch in Szczecin die Mücken eine große Plage. Die Behörden haben den Kampf gegen die Insekten auf dem Finalgelände rund um die Hakenterrasse und die Lastadie-Insel gestern abgeschlossen.

Mit Problemen ganz anderer Art haben noch die Stettiner Jachthäfen zu kämpfen. Die Anlage auf der Grodzka-Insel ist ausgebucht, auch die Anlegestellen in Szczecin-Gocław sind fast alle belegt. Den Besuchern, die das Finale des Tall Ships Races mit dem Segelboot besuchen wollen, wird daher empfohlen, auf den Hafen in Szczecin-Dabie auszuweichen. Ein Vertreter des Jachtklubs AZS hat erklärt, dass abhängig vom Aufkommen, noch zusätzliche Anlagestellen zur Verfügung gestellt werden.
Nichtsdestotrotz soll es auch während des Finales möglich sein das Gelände rund um die Hakenterrasse mit seinem eigenen Segel- oder Motorboot zu besuchen. Zu diesem Zweck hat der Veranstalter spezielle „Kiss and Sail"-Stellplätze eingerichtet, wo die Gäste zur See kurz festmachen können.

Aber auch die Besucher zu Land sollten lieber das Auto zu Hause stehen lassen. Für die Finaltage ist ein spezieller Fahrplan für die öffentlichen Verkehrsmittel eingerichtet worden. Park & Ride-Parkplätze stehen zur Verfügung.
